Hospital Day # 11 - 12/12/23 AM - Life-Flight - Prayers Needed

Hospital Day # 11 - 12/12/23 AM

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST: Brittney was just life-flighted to UL hospital for a serious brain bleed. The Lord provided quick and amazing care at Baptist Hardin plus much needed emergency blood platelets.  Please pray for wisdom for the neurosurgery team for speedy next steps!

Hospital Day # 10 - 12/8/23 - Headed Home! BE FAST (Stroke Symptoms to Watch For)!

Hospital Day # 10 - 12/8

We are so grateful for your persistent prayers! After a long night we received amazing news this morning, Brittney is getting discharged and we are headed home today!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

The speciality care we received at UL was amazing👏🏻…and the “lively” ER and shared rooms will give you stories to tell your grandkids 🤣

Brittney is still very fatigued and sore, and her health continues to be serious and fragile. We thank God for preserving Brittney’s life and protecting her brain in so many incredible ways on this journey.

Please pray for:

  • a speedy and smooth discharge process
  • Brittney’s healing and strengthening
  • recovery for us all - our girls, Brittney’s parents, and us - after an extremely difficult week
  • for long term answers & protection as we consult with specialists about Brittney’s health needs

Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.”

Picture note: although Brittney was protected by God and her medical team from a stroke, this BE FAST acronym was (and will continue to be) a huge help to recognizing the symptoms preceding serious brain trauma

Hospital Day #9 - 12/7/23 - Patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit

Hospital Day #9 - 12/7

Patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.  Apparently, God is giving us a bushel-full of that today 🤣

Brittney’s blood pressure is still too low (70s-90s/30s-40s)…so we’ll be at UL hospital at least thru tomorrow (like a 7 day cruise!!).

Thankfully her resting heart rate has sped up (from 40s up to 70s/80s) and she is feeling much better. She has been able to get out of bed and walk around the room some and was disconnected from her IV meds. We are grateful for Brittney to be strong enough to have left the ICU today and moved into a step-down unit.

We are thankful for the cautious care here at UL; Brittney’s situation has been quite life-threateningly serious and rare.  But God has kept her alive and she is still vertical (halfway at least in the hospital bed) and kickin’ (me…when I touch her foot IV or make bad jokes)!

Thank you for all of your amazing prayers, love, and kindness!

Ways to pray:

  • joy and peace in the waiting, especially for our girlies
  • wisdom for our medical care team in this season
  • for a restful night and to be home tomorrow  :)

Colossians 1:10-12 “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; [11] being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; [12] giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.”

Here’s a video of Alia upon a hospital release a 7 years ago today… hopefully we will be singing like this tomorrow!
