Weekend to Remember - An Experience You'll Never Forget

A great movie is coming out September 26th, from the makers of Facing the Giants...Fireproof.

Church History - so important!

History was always a chore for me growing up, and is still a difficult task for me due to the immensity of reading and memorization that goes along with it. Although I have barely brushed the surface of Christian church history it amazes me how many lessons of the past are applicable and relevant to the church today! Here are some neat resources if you ever want to explore Church History for yourself! Justo Gonzalez has written two great books, one starting with the early church and leading up to the Protestant Reformation and the other continuing from the Protestant Reformation to the modern church. Another interesting resource is the Christian Classics Ethereal Library. It has lots of early church writings (up to 1900 years old!) that have been translated and uploaded to the Internet for all to read. "What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun." Ecclesiastes 1:9

Scripture Memorization - It is possible!

Have you ever tried to memorize Scripture only to get frustrated and fail? Memorization is a difficult thing for me. Today I heard a convicting message ("Authority of Christ in the Great Commission") in which the pastor, Dr.David Platt, (~30years old, travels all the time, leads a 4,000+ member church=busy!) had memorized half of the book of Romans (chapters 1-8). It was inspiring and powerful to hear the Word of God so well communicated. "Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." Joshua 1:8 "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:5-9
